Recycled newspapers, environmentally friendly fragrances, recyclable ferrules and biodegradable materials are used to manufacture Smens. Even Smens packaging is environmentally friendly using recylable plasic. Smens is committed to the responsibility of sustaining our environment. Smens also give teachers an excellent opportunity to teach the benefits of recycling.How Smens Are Made We roll sheets of recycled newspaper to form a cylinder that serves as the body of the pen. Then the cylinders are hardened and soaked in our gourmet liquid scents. The gourmet liquid scents (made by an award winning Fragrance Company) absorb into the layers of newspaper. Once they're dry, we assemble the pens, including the pen cap that identifies the scent of each Smen. Lastly, we put each Smen into its own corn-based biodegradable Freshness Tube. Scents are guaranteed to last for at least 2 years, in or out of the tubes.All the materials used to make Smens pens are completely safe for adults and children.
